National Association of Wedding Professionals

The National Association of Wedding Professionals (NAWP) Summer Networking Event was held at Middle Temple in the City of London on 4th June. Attracting over 100 attendees Middle Temple Hall made the perfect setting for the event.

For those of you not familiar with Middle Temple, it is a stunning location set back from the Thames and steeped in history. Not only did it survive the Great Fire of London, but the 1st performance of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night is recorded as having taken place here in 1602. This is a perfect place to host a wedding as it accommodates numbers from 50 to 500.

Middle Temple also boasts wonderful landscaped gardens overlooking the Thames where a marquee can be sited seating anything up to 700 guests.

NAWP co-founder Siobhan Craven- Robins welcomed everyone to the event and updated guests on the NAWP news since the last event in February. NAWP are busy continuing the PR drive to raise the profile and increase market awareness. We are pleased to announce an alliance with Brides the Show and Wedding Venues and Services magazine; both of whom will be promoting the National Association of Wedding Professionals.

Our new website is nearing completion and will be launched in the summer. By October, and our next event, we will be ready to launch membership. Information on the various membership levels was given to all who attended. If you would like information on this please email us at info@nbpuk.co.uk.

Following on from Siobhan, Lorraine Butler from Middle Temple gave a presentation and overview of the venue - a little on its history and explaining the spaces available for the differing size of events.

Rachel Wookey from The London Kitchen, caterers for the evening, was next to present. Having already been treated to the most beautiful canapes and sparkling cocktails, Rachel gave us a fascinating insight into the world of event catering.

International Wedding Planner, Sarah Haywood was our Final guest speaker. Having addressed wedding professionals all over the world, Sarah was on top form giving us a very inspirational presentation, including her take the current state of the wedding industry and why it needs a regulatory body such as NAWP. Her talk was met with enthusiastic applause and gave everyone much to discuss afterwards.

The evening was photographed by the ever so talented John Nassari, assisted by the lovely Katie. Together they took some wonderful shots of the evening and captured the buzz in the room. The evening’s beautiful Florals were the work of Floristry genius Mary Jane Vaughan; with the most visually inspiring and delicious cakes provided by the wonderful Kate Poulter of Pat- a- Cake.

Our events do tend to run over and this one was no exception! There was a tangible energy in the room from some of the most prestigious wedding professionals in the industry.

The buzz continued on twitter that evening and the following day with many people saying what a wonderful event it was and many crediting it as the best networking event they had ever attended.

Our next event is scheduled for October, date will be confirmed shortly. If you would like to attend or find out more about the NAWP, please email us at info@nbpuk.co.uk
