Spotlight On…. Venues

Usually the starting point of your wedding planning! It’s perhaps one of the most time-consuming elements, researching the area, where’s available, the facilities and size – and then finally the viewings.

This month we are delighted to feature four of our Professional Venue members.

DEER PARK COUNTRY HOUSE HOTEL

The Ultimate Deer Park Wedding Weekend

Friday: Arrive and breathe - our team are on hand to take care of you now. Explore your relaxed country home and prepare for a truly unique experience ahead.

Kick start your weekend with a quintessentially English afternoon tea served on fine vintage bone china. Whether you take tea overlooking our manicured laws or in the sumptuous lounge surrounded by sporting art memorabilia, you’ll be cocooned in British splendour.

Spend the afternoon being rubbed, scrubbed and polished in a lavish top-to-toe pamper session in your own private house. Or why not embark in a selection of fun-filled country pursuits in our 80-acre playground? There’s fly-fishing, clay pigeon shooting, cycling, a 4x4 off-road course, riverside walks, or even unleash your inner-Robin Hood with a spot of archery.

That evening you will enjoy an unforgettable dinner in the secret garden or in our splendid Loxtons dining room.

The BIG Day: After a leisurely breakfast, retire to your room to slip into your glad rags. Wedding ready, follow the drifts of live music. You’ll walk through the secluded gardens, under the wisteria arch, until you reach the enchanting ceremony setting. Say ‘I do’ in our wooden summer house, in front of your loved ones and the onlooking deer.

Chin chin! Our walled garden cocktail is just the ticket to raise your first glass as a married couple with your guests. As if by magic, scrumptious canapes delivered by our charming team will work their way around the crowd.

Time for food, glorious food! Take your seats in our spectacular blossom-scented orangery, complete with art deco chandeliers, bespoke botanical wall-paper and Italian stone flooring. Your personal bar-tender has everything you need to get fizzical, from fine Champagnes to an extensive range of gin and tonic.

Let the band fill the dance floor, encouraging your guests to twirl the night away. Feeling peckish? Let the evening feasting commence with a range of options from wood-fired pizza to a vast cheese selection.

When the evening draws to a close, climb the spiral staircase up into the treetops. Your luxury suite is bursting with life’s little luxuries including a circular bed, a wood-burning stove and roll-top bath tub.

Sunday: The morning sun over the River Otter Valley is best served with hot cups of tea. We thoroughly recommend bundling up in blankets on the balcony to take in the sensational views.

At your leisure, join us in the main house to see what our team has rustled up for your breakfast. Revive yourselves with coffee, the fluffiest scrambled eggs and bloody Mary’s. There is much to see and do on our estate, whether it’s fly-fishing in the river or resting in a hammock built for two. Round off your magical weekend with our traditional Sunday lunch served in the main house.
